Vendors Say You Must Choose Right Agent

A recent study undertaken by Zoopla has looked at crucial factors in the sales process, asking more than 3,000 vendors about their actions. Although many vendors and no doubt some agents, believe that offering a lower price can facilitate a sale, only 14% of respondents said that lowering the asking price was effective.

It is best to get things right at the start of the sales process

It seemed that many respondents believe it is best to make an informed decision at the start and get things right as opposed to trying to resolve an issue. 10% of respondents said that changing their agent was critical in making a sale but 47% of respondents suggested that finding the right agent who advised them to set the most accurate price was the most crucial element in making the sale.

Selling your home is a hugely important activity, and there is a lot of pressure involved with the process. It is perfectly natural that sometimes you just want to get started with the process but ideally, you should review your options before you commit to the market.

Charlie Bryant is the managing director of Zoopla, said: “Nearly half of vendors believe selecting the correct estate agent and taking their advice on listing their home at the right price was the biggest factor in securing a sale on their home. Not only are these consumers acknowledging the insights agents have offered in these instances but also have an understanding that choosing the best estate agent and correct price at the start of their property selling process is crucial.”

If you are in the middle of the sales process and toiling, these findings may not sound too helpful, but it may be helpful to take a break from proceedings and come fresh and with renewed vigour.
