Are you running out of ways to keep the kids (and yourself) entertained this Easter?
We get it – school holidays can be a bit of a juggle. But you don’t have to spend a fortune to keep everyone smiling.
Here are three fun and budget-friendly Easter activities you can try in and around Stockport this weekend.
1. Easter Egg Rolling
This traditional activity is a hit with all ages – and it’s super simple.
Start by hard-boiling a few eggs (at least 10 minutes). Then break out the art supplies and get decorating.
???? Top tip: Use bright colours, googly eyes or even glitter for extra fun.
Next, head to your local park or a gentle grassy slope – perfect places for a proper egg roll.
Mark a start and finish line, then take turns seeing whose egg rolls the furthest.
Want to ramp up the competition? Play best of five or turn it into a bowling-style challenge.
2. Scrambled Easter Egg Hunt
This version of the classic egg hunt has a fun twist – and you can do it indoors if the Stockport weather turns!
???? Here’s how:
-
Choose a single hiding spot for your Easter eggs.
-
Write each letter of that place (like S-H-E-D or K-I-T-C-H-E-N) on separate Post-it notes.
-
Hide the notes around the house or garden.
Once they’ve found all the notes, the kids need to unscramble them to find where their chocolate treasure is hidden.
Fun and educational – win-win.
3. Get Crafty
Stockport has some great craft and discount shops where you can grab supplies for under a tenner. Think felt, card, wool, and face paint.
Set up around the kitchen table and create Easter bunny ears, whiskers, and noses.
???? Then bring out the face paint and let imaginations run wild.
Don’t forget to snap some pictures or record a video. It's a lovely way to share the Easter joy with friends and family who can’t be with you in person.
We hope you and your loved ones have a fantastic Easter weekend.
