STOCKPORT SELLING FAST

Stockport Selling Fast

As a Stockport based estate agents, we know that there is a high demand for property in Stockport. The town has been changing, and the development work means people want to live here. There have been many households snapping up property in the area, but equally, there have been many investors turning towards Stockport.

Research carried out by a firm called Sellhousefast suggests that buy-to-let properties sell faster in Stockport. This is no surprise to us, but it is pleasing to see others recognise what is taking place in Stockport.

Stockport ranks well against many well-tipped places

The company looked into how long it would take to sell property in 10 locations. These locations were taken from LendInvest’s list of areas that were perfect for buy-to-let opportunities.

Stockport was reviewed alongside Enfield, Luton, Canterbury, Manchester, Colchester, Peterborough, Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Coventry.

Stockport came out on top, with homes selling in an average of 104 days, with the SK4 postcode being the fastest. This postcode area includes The Heatons and homes were sold here in less than 60 days! Selling quickly is a great comfort for all concerned, so it is pleasing to see property sales run smoothly. The average price of property in this area stands at £280,768.

The closest ranked challenger to Stockport was Coventry, which took an average of 124 days to sell property.

The north of England is in demand

Robby Du Toit is a Managing Director of Sellhousefast, and he said; “From our research, it’s plain to see sales in the north and central England, in particular, are very promising. Locations like Stockport, Coventry and Wolverhampton have the benefit of lower property prices (in comparison with the south) and fast-paced, growing markets; something investors should take advantage of; should they be able to.”

It is easy to see why Stockport is in great demand. Reliable transport links to Manchester and London ensure this is a well-connected location. While demand outstrips supply in Stockport, as it does virtually everywhere in the country, there is significant development work taking place in the town.

The changing face of Stockport, and rate of development work led by the Council, provides confidence that this is a town on the up.

Robby Du Toit, as you’ll see below, strikes a note of caution in looking at towns, but Stockport has everything an investor needs. Du Toit said; “However, it is also promising to note that no matter where you want to invest there is a location available where property sells quicker than most. It is so important therefore to make sure you do your research before you take on an investment property. Shop around, ask questions, compare prices – don’t just choose the most amenable, obvious property. When it comes to selling, this is not always what makes a success.”

With convenient transport links to the centre of Manchester, and significant developments taking place, Stockport is the ideal place to buy, live or invest.
