FIRST TIME BUYER LENDING ROSE

First Time Buyer Lending Rose

If you want to sell your home in an effective manner, you need to focus on buyers. Yes, you should make your home look as appealing as you can and ensure that you price the property accordingly but an understanding of prospective buyers and the buyers’ market, in general, will go a long way when it comes to selling property. At Spencer Harvey, we follow the buyers’ market and the several factors that influence it so if you want to make an informed decision when selling your home in Stockport, you will find that we are the company you can trust.

In information provided by UK Finance, there is a lot to feel confident about when it comes to the intention of buyers. For May of 2018, there were a total of 32,200 first-time buyer mortgages approved. This was an 8.1% increase on the May of 2017 figures, which is always a positive thing to see. Increases on a monthly basis may not always be the best measure of success or development but over a year, there is a greater sense of confidence in what you find.

Home mover mortgage applications were also on the rise

There was also an annual increase in the number of home mover mortgage applications being approved. In May of 2018, there were 31,100 home mover mortgages approved and this was an increase of 4.4% on the previous years' figures. While the increase for home mover mortgages wasn’t as stark as the increase for first-time buyers, this shouldn’t be a surprise.

After all, the Government has placed a significant deal of importance on helping first-time buyers step on to the property ladder. There have been numerous measures introduced aimed at making life easier for first-time buyers and it may be that these figures are now representing this behaviour.

Sellers can benefit from an increase in prospective buyers

If you are looking to sell your home, you may not think that these changes are too relevant but that would be wrong. This is because when there are more prospective buyers on the market, there is a greater chance of selling your home. The property market is still highly competitive, and homeowners need to ensure their property appeals to prospective buyers, but if you aim at the right type of buyer and price property accordingly, you have a strong chance of selling your home.
