All Change In Stockport

While there may be a slight inconvenience about modern life in Stockport, the amount of work and development taking place is generally good news for all concerned. It is pleasing to see the face of the town improve and with so much going on, you may struggle to keep up to date with all the latest news on projects taking place around Stockport. This is why Spencer Harvey is keen to provide you with an update because when it comes to Stockport, we take property and development seriously.

Some good news for the local area comes with the fact that plans for a £60m Mercedes-Benz showroom and servicing centre, which will be located alongside the M60, have been recommended for approval by planning officers for the local council. The LSH organisation, which is a component of the Lei Shing Hong Group, one of the most prominent retailers for Mercedes-Benz in the world, currently operate from Wellington Road North but they will relocate to what promises to be a regional hub and a showroom that has been classed as “landmark”.

Lots of work taking place in and around Stockport

The latest news on the Meadow Mill development is that it is being placed up for auction by the developer William George Homes. It is believed that the starting price for the development is £7.25m and planning permission is in place after Stockport Council provided this for 213 apartments. The plan was to make a mixture of property available for sale and rent and the overall intention is that the development will be purchased by another developer. However, if there is no sale at auction, William George Homes have announced that they will progress with the development themselves.

There is also development news close to Stockport this week with the announcement that the DeTrafford Estates’ Ellizabeth Gardens project, in Reddish just two miles from the heart of Stockport, will be undertaken by Keepmoat Regeneration. This looks set to bring over 160 apartments to the area with the mill being refurbished and other buildings in the area being demolished to create townhouses and other apartments. The courtyards are also set to be refurbished to offer amenity space for the residents that move in. In total, there should be 213 new homes available through this project.
